Some say that male alopecians have an easier time socially than their female counterparts.   Maybe, maybe not.  But if you are the guy having to deal with it, hearing that someone else may be struggling more doesn't really solve your problems, now does it? 

Men with alopecia have some unique issues of their own.  Not the least of which is the lack of good looking and affordably priced hair pieces.

I've been dating a man for 1 1/2 years now, he has Alopecia; he's been w/o hair for ten years. Being that I'm not afflicted with Alopecia I know that I can't "understand" but I honestly think he is the most beautiful man I've ever seen. I LOVE the way he looks, the lack of facial hair, and yes I mean eyebrows and eyelashes too, is so appealing to me...and the lack of body hair, WOW...SEEEXXXXXYYYY!!! After all this time without hair he still has a hard time dealing with it; he'll never leave the house without a hat, and it's pulled down to cover the lack of eyebrows. What can I do to help him with his self-esteem and to rea*sure him that he's the most magificantly beautiful person that I know.
